Well as you can probably tell from my last few posts, I have been loving the simple browser drawing app called Harmony. Well, while playing with it I thought to myself, “Is there a reason this cant be done in Flash?”. Well this is the answer to my question.
I have called it Scribble and its very basic at the moment, not containing even many of the simple features in Harmony, I do however intend to keep adding to it. So over the course of several weeks I hope to add bit by bit till it becomes a fun little place to Scribble!
Wow! Although this is doable in flash I must say im pretty impressed with this little HTML5 app by MrDoob called Harmony.
Basically its just a little drawing app. I bet there are some people out there that could do some amazing things with this! As it is, im a programmer and no artist, but there is definately a certain beauty to some of the doodles that can be easily made in this thing:
I call this one rainbow circles:

Anyways, I would love to see some creations from proper artists. Make your own here -> http://mrdoob.com/projects/harmony and drop me a comment with yours!
I have always been into the scene but from a distance, some of the stuff is ameturish, some is a programming marvel (the 4k,32k,64k comps) but this is just plain beautiful. Its a demo (all code) from ASD (look them up on youtube if you want more from them) called Lifeforce, enjoy!
v1.0.3 (18/03/09)

Oh also so far I have been very impressed with some of the pictures being created by people, so far there have been 157 of them! Some highlights include:
Well this is the release of my latest little saunter into the world of particles and shaders in flash 10. It started off as and idea to use the new pixel bender shaders of flash 10 as a more efficient method of updating particle simulations.
Well after a few struggling evenings I managed to get a little prototype going. I was so amazed at some of the beautiful patterns and effects that the particles were making I thought it may be nice rather than just releasing a tech demo, to add abit more to it and release it for others to enjoy.
I will be releasing the source code in the coming weeks along with a blog post which should explain in detail how the technical aspects of updating and rendering tens of thousands of particles per frame works.
The tool features a gallery tab which you can use to take screenshots then upload them to my picassa account (proxyed via php). The hope is to get some realy beautiful images in here, perhaps if some are good enough ill get them printed and framed
I hope to come back to this project regularly to add new features so stay tuned. For now some of the images I have made with this so far:
I made this one last night while i was messing around. Its a duel-screen piece and took me about 2 hours to complete. I think its need a little more work but it looks okay on my desktop at the moment Used: Photoshop Download:2864×1024
This one took some time to create, i had a basic idea in my head of how i wanted it to look but it took some jigging to get Bryce to to what i wanted. The bubble i didnt envisage but i think it looks kinda cool so i kept it in!
