Well kind of.. We got our very pretty little tree up today:
Im all hot and itchy now, so it better be bloody staying up till June.
Went downstairs to the first floor carpark this morning to grab my bike for my morning 15min cycle into work to find that all that remained was this:
First time I have ever had anything stolen, all they left me were a few tattered remains of my bike lock as souvenirs of happier times. Looks like my journey to work got that bit longer
Been messing about with Sound Cloud recently, just seeing what all the audio related fuss is about and I must say its quite good. I have uploaded some of my mixes up there (not all of them as there is a size restriction on the number of uploads). I have also gone back and edited some of my old posts as the links to my old mixes no longer worked (thanks for Richard Davey for spotting that one.
Anyways, here are all my mixes done in release order (Tracklistings can be found in the post):
July 2009 – Coalescence – Download – Post
June 2009 – Intelligence – Download – Post
November 2007 – Future Harmonics – Post
November 2006 – Chill Trip – Post
June 2006 – Harmonics 2 – Post
May 2006 – Harmonics 1 – Post
Since GameJacket went under I have been looking for the next thing. I had a few offers but the one I went for in the end was the MMOLife studio based in Manchester. Ill be working with some of the people from GameJacket which is good as I know we work well together and I am familiar with the processes. I cant say exactly what I will be working on just that its flash based and ties in with what I have been doing in my previous roles at GameJacket and Dubit and in my own personal projects.
I have been here for two days now and still getting settled in but I think im going to enjoy myself is this relaxed yet professional atmosphere. Im looking forward to getting stuck in with the workload but at the same time hoping that it wont consume all my energies as I still want to concentrate much of my personal time onto my own projects
Well im finally back in Manchester after my little trip to the south of France. Had a splendid time eating, drinking and working on my tan. We also went to a wedding of two friends on the last couple of days.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself, but now im back im looking forward to getting stuck in to my new job starting Monday (more coming on that) and finishing off some of my existing projects (BlastWave, WorldsBestFlashGames) so I can finally get stuck into some iPhone dev!
As per usual I have uploaded the pictures and videos to my picassa account, but here are some highlights:
Wow! Well this one was a hell of alot easier to make than the last one.
Instead of trying to tell a story with film samples and a large overarching theme I have instead just let this one naturally progress and take its course. The consequence of this, I think anyway, the transitions are alot softer and more natural giving a good easy listen.
I have called this one “Coalescence” as it contains a rather different mixture of tracks that I have coalesced together. It still has that chilled-downtempo IDM-esq sound that I love so much at the moment with tracks by Jon Hopkins, Trifonic but I have also included some other tracks I have acquired on my eclectic audio adventures.
Anyways I hope you enjoy it, I think its probably my best mix since my Harmonics 1 and 2.

Just acquired a shiny new 15″ MacBook Pro, so I can do some iPhone stuff, yey
We are still working on BlastWave 2. Over the last 4 days or so we have progressed quite far:

As can be seen by the screeny we have added many of the characters (tho they need some touching up still) and have added some scenery elements. On the code side I have been playing around with the physics provided by Box2D.
The screenshot doesnt give a full impression but Oliver and I are getting excited about how nice this looks and feels when you are flinging the objects all over the place.
Expect more updates over the coming days / weeks.

As it has now been posted on the GameJacket Support site I guess its okay for me to announce too that GameJacket finished trading on the 8th while I was away in Canada.
I have had an excellent time at the little start-up and have learnt alot about both technical aspects of the web but also about how a small business works and functions. Its sad to see GJ go as it had so much promise in the early days. Without the funding for expansion however we were never going to be able to compete with the multi-million pound Mochi Ads.
On the last day before I took off on my trip we all had a little farewell party in the office. A little wine tasting and some cheese and crackers. The pictures and a video are on my Picassa, but here are a couple:
Yarr’ me old sea dogs. I have just returned from a grand voyage to the eastern Canadian territories known as Nova Scotia. There myself and me old sea cappin’ red beard rum went-a-hiking and campin’ around the Maritimes.
And here be the tale of me epic journeyYARR!
